China explores seabed near to Amerika

Chinese manned submersible, reached a depth of 4,027 meters, according to the State Oceanic Administration last July 21.The dive, a record for China, took place in the eastern Pacific, between Hawaii and the continental US.

Beijing plans to eventually take the craft, named after a mythical sea dragon, down to its maximum depth of 7,000 meters. At that depth, it can crawl along 99.8 percent of the world’s seabed last year.
According to Chinese officials Jiaolong planted China’s flag on the floor of the disputed South China Sea when it dived to 3,759 meters it dived to 3,759 meters.

Jiaolong will be used for civilian purposes only. Submersibles, however, can perform military tasks, such as intercepting or severing communications cables, retrieving weapons of other nations, repairing submarines, and rescuing submariners Beijing claims.

China was granted rights to explore for minerals by the UN’s International Seabed Authority. On the 19th of this month, the ISA granted China the right to search for polymetallic sulphides, which contain valuable metals such as gold and silver.

Polymetallic sulphides were discovered by American scientists in the Alvin back in 1971.America helped the Chinese learn about exploring the ocean floor by providing training dives on the Alvin.
